Interesting response, and even 'left field' for me. I was only thinking physical 'stuff', but there is so much more that we 'have'... I wonder how many people couldn't give up their Facebook accounts?

That is a huge question to ask Drew. For me, the big one would be blogging. I enjoy the sense of global engagement that it brings.

What a wonderful way of illustrating just how important it is to involve God in all aspects of our life. Thank you for this important message.

I just went and had a look again at theword ( http://www.theword.net ) - wow, that has come a long way, I hadn't realized how much. Time to download and give it another go :D

Good point - that would be another great feature. Still, I think it's the most complete yet - maybe someone will bring that along next!

I've used the free ones (and still do sometimes) - I even worked on e-sword a very long time ago back when it was new, though I didn't do much but proofing and bug checking! For the person with no dollars, they are great. I find their screen layouts needs some work, but that's about all. With the move to Web apps though, and configurable layouts, screens, etc, it is all just so much more accessible.

I really like the interface but the original language tools are lacking the most important feature (for layity, anyway). It doesn't appear possible to click on a word and locate all occurences of that word in the text. Seeing the other occurences of the word is critically important to understanding HOW the word is used in the original language - the brief gloss given by Strong's is completely inadequate.

Mystudybible.com's interface is miles better but I'll stick to Blue Letter Bible until it gets that feature. (I haven't checked out esvonline yet to see if it has that functionality.)

Also, what are your thoughts on the free Bible software programs like E-Sword and theWord?

Amen! No doubt, no wondering if we will be accepted - as long as we approach honestly and call out, we will never be put to shame.

I'm mediating through Romans myself at the moment. I like what you said about not being put to shame, God will never turn any away from him.
